PLEASE NOTE: We play all-ages shows only and try to avoid playing in bars, unless we’re somewhere where we don’t know of a viable alternative. Four quick reasons: 1) bar shows tend to be lackluster reenactments of sweaty, impassioned house shows. 2) While bars themselves can be fun, and a lot of us frequent them (for better or for worse), the atmosphere created by all of that liquor and desperation tends to reinforce rape culture. 3) Bars exist to make money, whereas punk houses exist to build community. 4) Remember being a kid and punk was your only outlet, and some band you were obsessed with was coming to town, and you couldn’t go see them because they chose to play at a venue that valued increased alcohol sales over creating a sustainable, passionate DIY scene? It didn’t feel good. And we don’t want to be on either end of that bargain. If you would like to discuss this further, write us a letter and we’ll write you back for sure.
